Due to the rising global recognition of Korean cuisine and K-culture, many consumers in the U.S. are seeking out restaurants in LA’s Koreatown. However, these LA Koreatown restaurants are facing difficulties in operation due to increased operating costs and declining sales caused by the worsening urban environment. Additionally, the lack of opportunities to generate additional revenue through online sales prevents them from adopting future-oriented business models.
Following the pandemic, consumers have increasingly sought to minimize contact with others at restaurants, while usage of apps for purchases has grown. This has led to a rise in demand for food delivery and the expansion of the meal kit market.
